The Dalton Gang pulled a good crowd and they were joined by Danny Stain towards the end of the night.
Stuie was under the weather and Leo referred to him as “Sickie” instead of Stuie. He almost sounded like someone else with his raspy vocals but he still put on a good show. A most entertaining night.
We had a full house for our final show for 2017 with the Dalton Gang and many guest artists performing.
The Dalton Gang (Leo Dalton, Helen Stewart and Stuie Lees) were the house band for the night. They were joined by Dave Moore, Norm Price, Michelle Gardiner, Karan Johns, Keith Green and the Salvation Army Brass Band (which also featured Stuie Lees). Click on any photo to enlarge it.
The Moonlighters turned up with their new old drummer Greg Pedley (ex-Rip Rawers) and put on their usual great show.
Geoff Wells, Mark Smith, Jimmy Fewings and Greg Pedley kept the dance floor hopping while three very talented rock ‘n’ roll couples kept the audience mesmerized with their agility.
It was Rough Cut of old on Friday night with Mike Burke on pedal steel replacing the ill Robyn Farrell.
Mark Woolrich had laryngitis which left all the singing to Yorkie and Tony Patricks on drums. Neil Hobbs sang along to most of the songs but he hasn’t graduated to a microphone yet.
Despite all their problems they presented a great night of country music and kept the crowd on the dance floor all night.
The Palace Gypsies drew a good crowd despite the threat of flooding rains. Karan’s dad celebrated his 85th birthday.
Glen Lee, Karan Johns, Phil Bowen and Bryan Derrick also treated us to a short sitdown acoustic set which included “Tear Stained Eye” and a performance by Keith Green.
Mustang braved the stormy weather to put on a fine show with guest vocals from Johnny Shilo and Glen Lee.
Joey D’Rozario, Denis Cahill, Malcolm Manuel and Doug D’Rozario are the current lineup of Mustang which has been around for 40 years.
The Dalton Gang were in fine form with Leo on guitar, banjo and fiddle and three part harmonies all night.
Leo Dalton, Helen Stewart and Stuie Lees entertained the crowd with their versatility. As the Don Williams Band said many years ago ….The Dalton Gang sounded more like a hot five piece band than a trio.
Danny Stain surprised everyone by turning up with a trio instead of the usual four piece band and didn’t disappoint.
With Danny on lead guitar and vocals, Helen Stewart on bass and vocals and Bryan Derrick on drums they delivered a wide variety of country from Danny originals to Johnny Cash to Skyhooks. A very enjoyable evening.

Rodger Delfos and his Beatriders served up a wide range of music from 1960’s Don Gibson to today’s Sam Outlaw.
Rodger Delfos, Mick Hamilton, Ed Bates, Andrew Forrer and the bearded Ron Mahony put on a fine show as usual.
Rough Cut always draws a good crowd and this night was no exception. They also trotted out some new songs.
Mark “Yorkie” Crossley, Mark Woolrich, Robyn Farrell, Neil Hobbs and Tony Patricks make up Rough Cut and they have excelled since Neil joined them recently on bass.
They will be back on December 8, 2017
